Advice for a successful party

Not every party "takes off" on its own, and sometimes even the best organised parties can fail. Below we have tried to collect some advice gathered over our years in the entertainment business.

When organising a party, please ensure the activities you have planned for the evening don't need more space than you have. Equally vast rooms for small crowds makes it difficult to create any atmosphere.

To keep the dance floor filled, it is advisable to have drinks/bar in the same room as the designated dance area - dancing does make you thirsty.

Location of the disco is worth some thought. If you have a long room and place the disco at one end remember that one end of the room will be much quieter than the other. If you want a quiet area this is fine but if you want the music to be roughly equal throughout it may be better to locate the disco on the longer wall in the centre somewhere.

At weddings or any other event where the guests might not have met before, give thought to seating arrangements and maybe try to mix guests slightly.

Don't expect a packed dance floor straight away. Most people need a drink or two before they get going so allow them some time.

These are just a few ideas. If you have other suggestions please send them to us at suggestions@1stce.co.uk
